Entry #4: IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON MENTAL HEALTH

Hey guys, on this entry#4, I'm going to be talking about impact of social media on mental health.

social media can have positive effects. It allows us to connect with friends and family, share experiences, and find support.

It can provide a sense of belonging and help combat feelings of isolation. We can also use social media to raise awareness about important causes, like the adoption of senior and physically challenged dogs from local shelters, as I mentioned in the ad I shared.

However, there are some potential negative effects to be aware of. Social media can contribute to feelings of loneliness as we often see others' highlight reels and compare ourselves to them. It can also lead to a distorted self image, as people tend to present their best selves online.

Cyberbullying and online harassment are other concerns, which can have a significant impact on mental well being. To navigate the impact of social media on mental health, it's important to find a balance.

Surround yourself with positive and supportive communities online. Remember that what you see on social media is just a snapshot of someone's life and not the full picture.

In summary, social media can have both positive and negative effects on mental health. it's super important to use social media wisely, set limits, and take care of yourself. When we do that, we can make the most of it while keeping our mental well being in check.

  1. Hi, I thought your graphics were helpful in demonstrating your message. It is weird how in a world where it is so easy to be connected we are also the loneliest we have ever been. I think you are right it is good to have positivity on social media. It can be a good thing if we use it for good.

  2. I don't know about this graph. There's no units on it all, so I have no idea what it's supposed to represent. It's just kind of a vague, this thing good, this thing bad, kind of statement. The info at the bottom lists some things they factored, but it doesn't mention how they factored. I think that's a pretty important element.
